6th-8th grade EXPLORE students recently completed a STEM unit on process engineering, where they had to work in teams to engineer a process for creating ice cream. After experimenting with color, flavor, texture, and different base ingredients, students determined their final ingredients and process for engineering their own ice cream. Teams also had to engineer and test a package to contain their ice cream. Afterwards, a randomly-selected group of peers tasted and rated each group's final product, and the team with the highest score in every category (Best Flavor, Best Texture, and Best Overall Presentation) was the 6th grade. Great job to all of the engineering teams! |
