Vacation!

2nd Grade News
We would like to welcome Lillian Howland to the AES family! She is the newest member of 2nd grade, and is settling in very well! The kids have been so kind in helping her adjust and get used to her new school. Next week we have vacation! WOOOOOOO! We hope you all have a very restful and wonderful vacation. Spotlight Students!
This week, Mr. D would like to recognize Ryan Conley for the enthusiasm he brings to each and every day. Miss McCabe would like to recognize Sophia Perez for bringing joy and happiness each day!.
Math
We have moved into a study of basic fractions. Students are working with fractions from ½-⅙. They are learning how to name and compare fractions, as well as, add and subtract like fractions.
Reading
Miss McCabe's reading groups: After vacation, I will be testing the level N students.

Social Studies
We will begin our unit on Benedict Arnold’s March Through Maine after vacation.
Writing
We have begun a unit on poetry. The students are doing extremely well with this and are excited to write new poetry every single day!
